Over the next thirteen years the AVRS plan to reintroduce public passenger services throughout Swansea & the surrounding areas. This project is more formally known as Swansea 9 Lines.

Abernant Branch Line
The project is intended to launch a 4.8km heritage railway from Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen towards Abernant Colliery.

This line will provide steam operation and light diesel railcars. Another anticipated development on this branch is to utilize the 8 acres of land and turn it into a more community viable venture.

Recently the Society managed to secure an access license for this section. Soon an Environmental Impact Assessment will take place.

Which will in turn work towards the Transport and Works Act – allowing for the construction of this line.
